VANGUARD

Are you an artist, performer, writer, director or theatre-maker aged 18 to 26? We’d love you to be a part of Vanguard, leading the way and creating new, innovative and exciting theatre.

The Cockpit, Theatre of Ideas, wants to  work with theatre-makers to provide a space where home-grown, provocative theatre can thrive. So we’ve set up Vanguard to give theatre-makers, at any stage in their career, the opportunity to develop ideas in a supportive environment.

Once you become a member of Vanguard you will receive a whole bunch of stuff:

  • Not only do you automatically get concessionary rate tickets to our shows (where there is a concession available) you will also get 10% off all drinks at the bar whenever you’re here.
  • We will let you know about special Vanguard discounts on selected classes and courses, so that you can continue to develop your craft while creating your own work.
  • You will be invited to one of our New Members Welcome events. These events consist of a tour of the building, a free welcome drink, and a free ticket to that night's show. You can also bring a friend along who can get a discounted ticket on the door.
  • To help you get your creative projects on their feet, you’ll also benefit from a discounted rate on all studio hires taking place any day between 10am - 6pm. You’ll get Studio One for £13.00 per hour, Studio Two for £5.00 per hour and Studio Three for £8.00 per hour.
  • You’ll also be able to apply for workshops, projects and developmental opportunities that are only for Vanguard members.
  • We will also be hosting networking events to help you widen your circle of like-minded artists and theatre-makers. These will be informal gatherings (almost certainly taking place in our bar) that we plan to host about four times a year.

Membership costs £20 for the year and to become a member you'll need to fill in this application form.
