Theatre In the Pound home - Further info for participants - Application form

Theatre In The Pound is an award winning evening of new theatrical shorts at The Cockpit. Every month we showcase new work from directors, writers and artists to provide a platform for them, and a great evening of exciting performance for you.
Line up for Monday 7th May:
Palpable Theatre presents Nymph
'Palpable Theatre' lives where poetry, story-telling and theatre meet. An old lady looks back on a walk in the woods which transforms her life. 'Nymph' marries fairytale magic with visceral reality - human, with a fantastical twists.
To The Moon presents Silent Shakespeare
To The Moon is a new production company designed as a launchpad for professional creative people who have trained for theatre as their second career or are returning to theatre after a career break.
‘Silent Shakespeare’ is our launch production. Using famous scenes from the work of William Shakespeare, we have devised a production which is very different from traditional performances, but appeals to audiences whatever their level of familiarity with his works.
Back Here! Theatre Company presents Much To Do
'Much To Do' sees two acting students rehearsing late one evening. As the lines blur between performance and reality, they realise there is a lot more at stake than they first thought.
Peta Lily presents Chastity Belt
‘Chastity Belt’ is set on the battle ground between trust and lust. Part cabaret, part one-woman Lysistrata - a woman in a corset and boxing gloves invites the audience to contemplate the unwieldy matter of Chastity and tries to punch her way through centuries of Patriarchal culture. Using some off-beat poetry, some blues music and a lot of lemons, the piece wrestles with the jostling emotions and impossible questions involved. Must old age mean chastity for women of ‘a certain age?’ Could a sex strike end war? Is intimacy dangerous? If mythic figureheads of Chastity were alive today - would they have a message for us and what would it be?
Cuppa Theatre presents A 12 Minute Antigone
This is Cuppa Theatre's first project, an attempt to tell Sophocles' Antigone in 12 minutes. The company have created their own original version taken from the original translation by Ian Johnston in the hope that it will not only give a true presentation of the story but give a new twist to a theatrical classic.
There is no need to reserve tickets, just turn up on the night. All tickets £1
