Cry of Curs' dystopian production of Romeo and Juliet brings passion, violence and love to the Cockpit Theatre this August.
Set in the totalitarian city state of Verona, the conscripted youth rebels with defiant and unlawful love.
Expect ‘edge of your seat’ action, belly laughs and the bittersweet taste of youthful passion, as this fresh young company throws down its gauntlet to the audience.
Artistic director Callum McGuire founded Cry of Curs to reimagine classical British plays. Callum struggles with severe dyslexia; his production is driven by the belief that engaging theatre is the key to unlocking the beauty of Shakespeare’s language for all.
Working with a compact cast of seven actors, minimal staging and the audience intensity of the The Cockpit --
This production is not to be missed
