Marketing Your Show

Who could benefit from this course?

Anyone who is looking to stage their own work, wants to improve the way they sell themselves, or wants to know more about marketing theatre. 

How does it work?

Kat and Michelle will take you through the tools you need to sell your show well.

Kat will take you through the various elements of marketing. This will include copy writing exercises, using and choosing visuals, branding, and social media.

Michelle will then take you through the various elements of contacting press and reviewers, including how to find the right audience, getting press attention, and creating a press release.

What do you gain?

Tools you can apply to any show you produce in the future and a guide to building the brand of yourself and your company.

Kat Gardner is Head of Marketing at The Cockpit and is a freelance writer and director. She also runs her own theatre company, where she writes, directs, produces and performs. (Sometime all at once, but she wouldn't recommend it!)

Michelle Olley has over 30 years' experience across print, online and broadcasting media - on both sides of the PR process. She is currently the presenter and co-producer of the Journey to Nutopia events and is the Press Contact for The Cockpit.
