Follow a little plastic bag on a journey through the ocean in a tale brought to life with humor, puppetry, and songs.
Odysseus Plastok is a creature born out of an abandoned plastic bag who sets off on a journey after being blown out of his bin by the wind. He ends up in the ocean and is swiftly led by the current to other environmental creatures, including his mother Petra Oleum and the turtle Tortuga.
He then ends up at The Big Garbage, the place where all of the ocean’s rubbish accumulates and is trapped forever. But how long before he discovers how dangerous he is?
Odysseus Plastok is a madly exhilarating ode to the protection of the oceans. With an intergenerational appeal, this cautionary but humorous play explores the dangers of plastic bag pollution through engaging puppetry and songs.
At time where the amount of plastic in the oceans is causing critical environmental damage, Odysseus Plastok is a timely production, teaching the next generation about the importance of ecological preservation. With an innovative recycled set design from Sylvie Decugis, Odysseus’ world is brought to life in an environmentally sustainable way.
