Produced and presented by BootleBird Theatre Company
What if, while the world wept for Romeo and Juliet, another story slipped by unseen?
Star-Cross*d puts a fresh, comedic spin on Shakespeare’s belovèd tale, shifting the focus to ‘the room next door’, where the real drama exists. With scheming relatives, forbidden passions, and everyone trying desperately to rewrite their stars.
Told in Elizabethan-style language, this new production blends original music, shadow theatre, and dynamic ensemble work. A fresh collaboration between an emerging writer and director, exploring themes of fate, privilege, and free will - asking how much control one has over their actions when shaped by their environment.
