“You know you think you are going to have that magic moment, when you are just a responsible adult. That click moment and you always think it’s just round the corner but well… mine’s still coming”

Three flawed young women and one lonely middle-aged Father pull each other through a reckless night of alcohol, weed and emotional outpourings.

Touching on generational divides, father-daughter relationships and the balance between self-preservation and self-exposure, Anya Reiss’s second play ‘The Acid Test’ reveals those struggling to take responsibility for their own adulthood.

Praise for the play as performed in 2011 at The Royal Court:

‘…it has wit and heart, and much of the dialogue is disconcertingly authentic… Adept at capturing the cadences of post-adolescent chatter, Reiss also knows how to probe the most raw emotions.’
-Evening Standard-

‘…full of humour, acute observation and accurate perception. The dialogue is as powerful and sharp as a vodka cocktail, and the tensions between generation are excruciatingly convincing.’
